ENTRIES
How do I enter the Illawarra Escarpment Traverse?
Entries will open online via our website. When they do, choose your course, complete the registration form, and secure your spot with payment.
Entries are limited and may sell out. Sign up for the Newsletter to get the latest info on release news.
In the meantime, check out the Courses page to view options and plan your race choice.
When do Entries close?
Entries are very limited and will be released in waves. More than likely, the early releases will sell out quickly.
The best way to stay on top of the release schedule is to sign up for the Newsletter and Follow Socials.
Can I transfer my entry to someone else?
After Entries are enabled for sale, the Transfer process will be published.
An administration transfer fee will apply.
Applicants are required to run at the event under their allocated entry bib.
What is your refund policy?
Entries will not be refunded once purchased. Please refer to the transfer process.
COURSES
What course distances are available?
There are both 6KM and 19KM distances available.
Check the Course Page to get more details.
What is the course cut-off time?
Both events have a 12 midday cut-off.
The 6 Km course has a 2-hour cut-off.
The 19 Km course has a 5-hour cut-off.
What kind of terrain should I expect?
Expect a mix of coastal tracks, escarpment climbs, forest single track and a small section of fire trails.
The 19Km course includes significant elevation gain over the 6KM course. It also has rocky sections and some exposed areas off course.
The 6KM course is less technical and has a small section of an elevated platform at the Sublime end.

Are the courses suitable for beginners?
The 6KM course is designed for first-time trail runners.
If this were your first running event, it would be better to hike the 6KM if you’re inexperienced on trails.
RACE DAY
Where is the event based?
Refer to the Courses page to get the details over the start, finish and course route.
The finish line is located at Hopetoun Park at Bulli Tops.
What time do the races start?
The 6KM race starts at 10AM at Hopetoun Park.
The 19KM race starts at 7AM at Stanwell Park Beach Reserve.
What happens if the weather is extreme?
We are trail runners right?
But, if it is extreme, and the event can’t progress, then the primary plan would be to postpone the event based on liaising with stakeholders and gaining approvals for NPWS.
TRANSPORT & PARKING
is there parking at the start/finish?
Both start lines have public parking nearby.

Ideally, you carpool, with the option that if you are running different distances, a 6KM runner parks the car at the finish line at Hopetoun.

How do i get there using Public transport?
Stanwell Park Train Station is approximately a 17-minute walk to the 19KM start line.
Due to the current closure of the Sublime Point stairs, public transport is unavailable for the 6KM course.
Consider carpooling as an alternative option.

What mandatory gear do i need?
6 km:
- 1 litre Water
- Snake Bandage 7.5cm x 2.3m
- Space Blanket
19 km:
Participants must carry at a minimum:
- 1 litre Water
- Mobile phone
- Two food portions (gel or other)
- Snake Bandage 7.5cm x 2.3m
- Space Blanket
Will there be aid stations on course?
- Emergency water point will be available on course
- Toilets available at the start line Stanwell Beach Park reserve, Sublime Point and the finish line Hopetoun Park
- Recovery snacks available at the finish line, Hopetoun Park
- Runners should come prepared and not rely solely on what is available on course
- No outside assistance is allowed during the event.
What saftey measures are in place?
Basic first aid will be available on course from 3rd party contracted services.
